Product Description

The Fishpond Medicine Bow Chest Pack functions as a stand-alone fishing pack or docks to several of Fishpond’s backpacks.  Smaller than the Savage Creek, this pack is for the true minimalist.  The Medicine Bow Pack is made from lightweight, breathable fabric, equipped with one main storage compartment that accomodates a large fly box.  Also included are a slash organization pocket, zip-down fly bench with replaceable foam, tool attachment tabs and loops, and adjustable neck and waist straps.

  1. Bought this specifically for the task: I wanted something small enough to stay almost unnoticed but with enough room for the essentials. Held an Umpqua med, double-sided fly box, low light sunglasses, reading glasses, and spare leaders, all inside the main compartments. It will hold marginally larger boxes. Space to hang hemos, tippet spools, floatant from the outside. Comfortable for all day wear in conjunction with a non-Fishpond pack and did everything I needed it to while climbing slippery slopes, going over rocks and downed trees, and trying to keep my balance crossing the creeks. Really dig the minimalist design and it may replace the FP Nomad waistpack I used for everything before. This would be perfect combined with one of FP’s packs where the neck and waist strap connect directly to the shoulder straps and waist belt. I’ve already asked them if they’ll sell the Oxbow system as just the pack (without the Savage Creek chestpack which is bigger than the Medicine Bow). So far, they state no plans to do that. This thing is still awesome so if you’re looking for small, light, and out of the way, look no further. Its the perfect creekin’ rig.
