Product Description

Scientific Angler Wavelength Trout lines feature the Scientific Anglers proprietary textured coating, which provides maximum shootability without the abrasive qualities of Sharkskin lines.  This fantastic taper is designed to make accurate presentations at all distances, especially with dry flies.  The extended back taper ensures good turnover for longer casts while the long front taper makes delicate fly presentations effortless.  The line is true to weight, making it a good match for all but the fastest action rods.  Dry Tip technology is applied to the front six feet of the line, making for excellent floatation. Rapidly becoming an industry favorite, it won Best Freshwater Fly Line at the 2011 International Fly Tackle Dealer Show.

  • All-around taper for precision casts
  • Superb dry-fly line with minimal water spray and easy pick-ups
  • Ideal for delicate presentations
  • For cold-to-temperate climates
  • Braided multifilament core
  • SA ID – SA WL TRT WF X F (X = line weight)
  • Color:  willow/dark willow tip

This is the line pairing for the 8’8″ Scott G2s and the 8’9″ Sage Circas. It is an absolutely outstanding dry fly line

This is the line pairing for the Scott G2 and the Sage Circa. It is an awesome dry fly line capable of presenting dries on very long leaders. I like the textured line. It does make a little noise through the guides, but it casts so well that all you textured line haters need to lay down your pre-conceived notions and go out and try it. I fish the WF3F with a Scott G2 883 and it is my favorite dry fly rod and line combo ever.

  3. Rated 5 out of 5

I’ve tried a lot of lines on Scott G2 fly rods. When I cast this one for the first time this spring on the San Juan, I asked myself “what have I been doing all these years?” The Textured Trout line is, beyond doubt, the best casting line on a G2 or Sage Circa. It is also ideal for the Scott Fibertouch and Sage TXL-F. The taper is what makes this line so magic, not the coating. Some anglers object to the texturing, but if you don’t mind it (or like it), you won’t believe what an improvement this line makes on your medium action fly rods.
