   This is a really well designed fly rod. The 4 parts flex together seamlessly, without a hitch. Most 10’ trout rods feel “hinged,” but not this one. I cast it with a Rio Elite Technical Trout WF4 and would highly recommend this pairing for dry fly fishing, soft hackles or small nymphs. The rod will also handle sinking lines for stillwater fishing, as long as the line head is not too heavy (such as a streamer-style line). More than the 5 and 6-weights in the Reach group, the 10’ 4-weight honestly feels like a 9’ fly rod. It has very low swing weight and the undeniable air of lightness. This is an elegant, touch-oriented fly rod that possesses plenty of power for casting, mending and hook sets at distance. It flexes deeper than some of the other 10’ 4-weights on the market (such as the Loomis NRX+ and Scott Centric), but in doing so, does more work with less effort from the caster.
