   The Bauer RX 1 has quickly become one of my favorite light duty freshwater reels. There are very few options for a small reel with a drag system and Bauer has absolutely nailed it with the RX 1. The reel is light enough to balance out a longer 2wt but also will pair very well with a mid-length 3wt or shorter 4wt. The drag system is very smooth and easy to use. I love the overall aesthetics of this reel, it looks great on virtually any rod out there. The backing capacity is quite impressive for a reel of this size and with all of the porting you can see the backing and fly line really well. I’ve fished the RX reels in several different sizes and can’t express my satisfaction enough. This is an adorable little fly reel that fishes well above the price tag.
